In today round of Prices Information Cup in league C we could one of the fastest pro game. After only 91 moves Kim Kiyoung 4p resign in game against Park Yeonghun 9p. Recently korean professionals are playing a lot of new variation in mini-Chinese opening so from time to time one get traped in this complex fight.

20 April second round of League part of Prices Information Cup started. This time we could see games from League A and B. In League A Hong Sungji 6p beat Kang Jisung 7p. This game was good example how to manage ko in opening. After 246 moves Hong Sungji won by 6,5 points.

17 April two last league in 4th Price Information Cup started. In League A first game was between Lee Sedol 9p and Cho Hunhyun 9p. In this game Cho Hunhyun took black stones. Black fuseki seems to be good, but in midlle game Lee Sedol started to building thickness in center. Cho Hunhyun made living group in center, but the cost of it was very high. Lee Sedol by attacking black weak group get profit in some other places in the board. Inthe end Lee Sedol won by 7,5 points after 245 moves. Read the rest of this entry »
